Nobody really understands who she is or why she acts the way she does, and she seems to prefer it that way. This has led to no end of speculation regarding what she might be. About the only thing conclusive is that her dress tends to follow a gothic trend, with gothic lolita being the most frequently mentioned. Even Tohya's name is somewhat mysterious. Tohya is a non-standard romanization (the Hepburn variant used on passports) of とおや (Too ya) and とうや (Tou ya), not とひゃ (To hya).

Perhaps the area of greatest contention is over Miho's illness, which is so generic it seems almost impossible to pin down. However, despite her apparent weakness, she seems unafraid of scaling lightposts to get a better angle on the world.

She is good with technology and gets her kicks from manipulating--or in her words, "playing"--other people. To date this list has included Largo, Ping, Piro, and Sonoda Yuki. Some fans thus see her as an overused character, claiming that virtually every plotline in Megatokyo involves her in some way.

Miho has spent a lot of time playing Endgames, an MMORPG where, it is presumed, she first met Piro and Largo. She also works at the Cave of Evil, a nightclub in Tokyo.

Miho is at least seventeen years old; some fans believe she was held back in school due to illness, and is actually nineteen or twenty. She attends Shiritsu Daitou High School and is in Largo's class, although she is shunned by the majority of her classmates.
